Camping plans

Yesterday, at the girl scout meeting we talked about fire safety and cooking related topics. There were cool cooking kits for us to see and try so that we could figure out how to use them. If you are wondering why we were doing these activities in a girl scout meeting, I can tell you that it’s because on Friday, May 13 our troop is going on a camping trip.(spooky! Friday the 13th!)

We learned that when flames are over a foot high, you should NOT roast marshmallows. Also, we learned how to light a match and never light one when we are not told to. Mrs. Peck, who is one of the girl scout troop leaders, showed us a can opener and told us we might bring canned food to camping. We learned how to use three buckets of liquid to wash our plates. First, you put your plate in a holed bag. Then, you drape the bag in a bucket of water. You take it out and put it in a bucket of soap water, take it out again and put it in another bucket of clean water. Lastly, you wipe it dry with a piece of cloth.

We were also given tips on packing. One of the tips was to pack as much as you can carry.  I hope that even though the camping trip falls on Friday the 13th, it won’t rain so we can roast marshmallows to make s’mores. I look forward to this trip. I think it’s going to be fun! Wait for me to update you about the camping!

California!(was awesome)

I went to CA for spring break. It was so much fun! We stayed at my mom's friend's house and I reunited with my friend Lillian. We got there Saturday the 9th and got back in a week (yesterday)
we got there last Saturday at 12:30 and got back very late at night last night. Last Saturday we had a "lunner " party right when we got to CA. Day 2: San Francisco: Pier 39, we went on a boat around Alcatraz and under the golden gate bridge. day 3: Yosemite National Park, what a boring, long, drive! when we finally go there we stopped at some sight seeing places like El Capitan and Tunnel View, after that we checked in at a hotel for the night. Day 4: Yosemite National Park, we went on the BEST hiking trail, it was called the Mist Trail, following it, we got to the top of Vernal fall. But then, came the boring, long, drive again. Day 5:Pebble Beach, we went on the 17 mile drive to pebble beach with some family and friends! I met my cousin and my nephew! (i know i have a nephew and he is older than me! I also have a niece!) Day 6:Stanford University, day 6 was my brothers birthday! we took a tour of Stanford University! it was so big!. Day 7:Academy of Sciences, we saw penguin feeding, and went in a shake house it was the best! Day 8:Airplane/Airports, Bye CA!
